Northland Pt 1

So I hired a car from 'quality' rentals and it was a heap of crap. However, it did take me on a very brief sojourn round the Northland of New Zealand, which was very beautiful, almost as beautiful as Yorkshire!! See?

This is the beach at Muriwai with gannet colony. Notice the juvenile gannet pecking out the eyes of its dead sibling - thats what you pays your money for!

Forest on Mt Auckland.

... up the Kauri Coast, land of huge trees, via the Kauri museum.

Here is the hugely girthed Lord of the Forest, absolutely awesome, and a stand of 4 huge kauris, 4 sisters.
