Home Away From Home (pt ii)

The New Guinea Binatang Research Center, Madang, PNG. Viewed from the front and back. Its hot and humid as predicted.

Here is Kokomo, the resident Papuan Wreathed Hornbill, who has been here since a chick. Capable of loud squawking early in the morning and occasional outbursts that sound like something out of a horror film.

Out back is the lovely Nagada Harbour

Resident frog. Resident dog, Mangi.

My room. It has a fan :)

Kokomo - sounds like a description of Kirsti on a bad day!

Glad you didn't get tangled up with those flying foxes and arrived safely. It all looks good and you've got your own early morning alarm clock-just your luck!!

Hurray you made it to canibal land. Looks like an interesting place but too hot and humid. Good luck with all research and foreign bodies, dogs, birds and frogs. Trust you to have a resident frog.

Looking forward to more brill photos and info about back of beyond.
